Not much change today. Kyle is getting less sedation, so he is more awake, agitated and wiggly. While no parent wants to see their child uncomfortable or in pain, it looks as if progress and healing are going to be uncomfortable.

Kyle has lost more fluid today through the dialysis, but still looks the same and can't open his eyes although he tries. Logic would tell us that he has to shrink eventually if we keep pulling fluid off of him.

Shiloh and I are doing well. We are cautiously hopeful. We're trying hard not to ride the emotional roller coaster of getting excited on good days and then crashing on bad days.

Thank you for your prayers, posts, and support. It's truly an encouragement as we read them and know that people are interceding on little Kyle's behalf.

  1. Dear Steve and Shiloh, We are so glad that the Care Meeting went so well. We know that the questions were tough and that some of the answers were tough too. We continue to pray for wisdom for the caregivers and staff and for little Kyle's kidneys. I am sure he is just waiting to let you all know that he is ready to get up and run!! GO KYLE GO!!
    I wanted to share this story with you from my book You are on God's Mind
    I will not forget you, See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.Isaiah 49:15-16
    Noah was totally helpless to change his situation. There was nothing he could do except to stay on the ark and tend to the needs of his family and those of the animals until God in some way brought deliverance. He had to keep his faith in God while simply waiting out the silence that followed the storm.
    Although He had been silent, God had not forgotten Noah. In fact, since Noah and his family were the only living persons on the face of the earth, we can be sure they had God's total, undivided attention every moment.
    Do you think God's silence in your life means He has forgotten you? Oh, no! God says He has engraved your name on the palms of His hands. You are in God's heart and on His mind every moment. He is fully informed of your circumstances and will bring about change when He knows the time is right. (Anne Graham Lotz)

  2. Stories from the scriptures bring us the most solace. I love the one above.
    In Genesis 15:1 it says, "After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward."
    Abram's reward was God - the great I AM... present tense--I AM with you, not I was or I will be. Tho it may seem you are all alone at times, HE is right there in the room watching and running intervention in ways you cannot see. Much love

A little over a year ago times were pretty difficult in our home, not near as tuff as what you must be going thru, when I heard a song by Big Daddy Weave. The title is HOLD ME JESUS. This song is so true, it says "you are my King of glory, won't you be my Prince of Peace". In times like these we hafta seek him, and he will guide/comfort us. We want you to know we are praying and if you need anything please call. Love ya'll, The Holders

  5. Taken from the Book of Psalms:

    23 If the LORD delights in a man's way,
    he makes his steps firm;

    24 though he stumble, he will not fall,
    for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

    25 I was young and now I am old,
    yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
    or their children begging bread.

    26 They are always generous and lend freely;
    their children will be blessed.

    27 Turn from evil and do good;
    then you will dwell in the land forever.

    28 For the LORD loves the just
    and will not forsake his faithful ones.

    Praying for you today and everyday...
