We had a "care conference" today. This consisted of gathering with most of the specialist and general doctors that have been caring for Kyle in an attempt to exchange information and develop an overall strategy for Kyle's healing. We had a lot of questions for the doctors: some practical, some gut-wrenching, all difficult. Overall, we felt the staff did a great job of answering these tough questions. My final question of which I was most dreading was "Do we have enough collective confidence that Kyle has the potential to improve to continue the course?" Their answer summarized was that while Kyle is a very sick baby, at this time they are hopeful that he can recover. So we will continue trying to take fluid off with dialysis, continue trying to give more milk, continue treating infections, continue treating the possibility of mold, and continue on the ventilator. . . . continue the course.

It was a good meeting and when the dust had settled, while hopeful, they can't predict the future, and they can't really guess at the future for liability reasons. But I tactfully assured them that was o.k. - doctors prescribe medicines; God is the one who heals.

Kyle has had a good day today. They have taken off more fluid, but he is more swollen - the mystery continues. He hasn't been able to open his eyes for several days now.

We continue to wait upon the Lord. Thanks to all who continue the course of prayer with us.

  5. It is amazing to me that as you all are going through this trial, you are an encouragement to so many everyday because of your faithfulness and dependance on the Lord. Thank you!

    Yet those who wait for the LORD
    Will gain new strength;
    They will mount up with wings like eagles,
    They will run and not get tired,
    They will walk and not become weary.

  7. I believe that although you can not hold this beautiful baby you can take comfort in the fact that God is holding him, that he has his arms around Kyle loving him.

  8. Your son is so beautiful and your blog is an amazing and powerful testimony to the God we love. So many lives have been touched by Kyle. Dear Lord, you are an awesome God and we love you. You've heard every prayer that has been lifted up for this baby boy. You have been with this family through it all--the anguish, heartache, exhaustion, tears, joy, thanksgiving and praise. We ask you, in Jesus name, to heal Kyle, and forever we'll give you the praise. In Jesus name .... amen.

    I waited patiently for the Lord;
    And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
    Psalm 40:1

  9. I will continue to lift all of you up in prayer daily. I will be leaving to go to Bryn's in AU. We will continue to check your blog. Thank you so much for the daily updates. I know that is difficult in itself, but it means so much to all of us to stay in touch. You are in my thoughts and prayers throughout the day. Now when I am praying for you during my day, it will be your night. You can know that people are praying for all of you around the clock and the world. We love you. I hope to see you home soon after I get back with a healthy little boy.
