Kyle is more swollen today. Truth be told, he is more swollen now than he was six weeks ago. His kidney function is the same as it was six weeks ago, and his liver is worse. His lungs look "hazy" on X-Ray which indicates fluid. His body is not actively shutting down, it's just not healing. The doctors and nurses have been working really hard for Kyle, but if he continues this course, I would expect that they will sit down with us in the next few weeks to make some hard decisions regarding Kyle.

By the breath of God's nostrils he can part the Red Sea. He obviously has the power to completely heal little Kyle in a second if He so chooses. If He so chooses.

I'm not loosing faith, I'm loosing hope. There is a BIG difference. My faith is that God loves me and sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for my sin on the cross; that on the third day He raised Him from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of God; that I have eternal life with Him in heaven by accepting Christ's sacrifice and committing my life to Him; and that He offers this free gift of eternal life to anyone who would do the same. THAT is where my faith lies. It is unwaivering.

My hope, however, is waining - hope that it is God's will for my son to be healed. We will continue to pray for God's will to be done, and we will praise Him whatever that may be.

  1. Our prayers continue for Baby Kyle and for the both of you. Keep your hope up, remember God works in his own time and we do not always understand his methods. I know that Kyle has tpuched so many people's life and hearts. Our prayers will continue that God will choose to heal this beautiful baby.

  2. Steve,
You are my "little" brother, but I am amazed and impressed at how strong a man you have become. Your faith and strength in God is really something to be admired. I know there are no words that anyone can say right now that will take away the pain and heartache you and Shiloh are going through right now. Just know that God will comfort you and time will slowly heal your broken heart. None of us know what the future holds for Kyle. All I can tell you is "Never, Never, Never give up." You,ve run enough mile relays to know that the race is not over untill you cross that finish line. Kyle may very well be near the finish line of his race. But only God knows that, and we are only watching and cheering and praying from the grandstands. When we were running, and Dad and Grandad and Mom and Grannie were watching us, they always cheered till we crossed the line, even if we came in last. All we can do for Kyle right now is watch, cheer, hope, and pray. There is always hope untill he crosses that finish line. All Rocky Balboa wanted was a chance to "stand toe to toe" and in the 14th round, he looked like he'd been run over by a Mack truck. But he never gave up. When he got knocked down, he got back up, when he saw three of em, he hit the one in the middle, and when his eyes were swollen shut, he got the trainer to cut his eye lid open so he could see. The point is, "Never give up." Whether Kyle lives or dies, "Never give up." The doctors don't give him much of a chance, "Never give up." Just know that your "Big Brother" loves you very much, and I'm in the stands cheering as loud as I can with my stop watch in hand. We all are, hundreds of us. This is the start of the 15th round and the bell just rang. "Ding, Ding"
    GO, KYLE, GO.

    Your Brother,
    Clint

  6. I wish I had all the words to comfort you guys as you go through these trying times, but all I can do is pray for you all.

    James 1
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

  8. faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things now seen....I pray that God will continue to strengthen your faith and hope in Him in spite of what the circumstances around you may dictate. We too have a sick loved one and just when we want to give up hope and things look the bleakest, the Lord has stepped in and healed for the moment. This journey is an up and down one, but don't allow your emotions to dictate your situation. God is faithful and still on the throne. It gives my family great joy to pray for someone else's need in the midst of our own and we know that God hears us all as we lift your little blessing to Him. Praying He will cradle Kyle in his healing arms as well as cradle you in His hope and strength. Hang in there precious family.

  9. We are praying these scriptures for you today - "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace...through the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 and "Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." Isa 41:10 The Koepfs

  10. Steve, Shiloh, Abigail, and Kyle - Our family is thinking of you and praying for you. The most important comfort won't come from doctors or friends. I will come from each other so stay strong together and love each other.

I am so sad to read that Kyle is not making the recovery we have all been hoping for. After seeing your beautiful son and knowing the two of you...I see a true fighter. Please don't loose hope. When it comes down to it...Hope and Faith are all you have and Kyle needs you to keep up both for him. I think of you both daily and the struggle you are both faced with. Hold strong to each other. You created this wonderful baby boy and you will continue to help him fight. If the times comes that you are faced with making a decision no parent should be faced with, lean on each other to help you both get through it.
    All My Hopes and Love
    You CA Cuz...Carrie

  12. To Dwinn, Margaret, Jeanne, and Brent
How fortunate Steve and Shiloh are to have you for their parents. Parents who are willing and nearby to stand beside them as they stuggle thru these dark days. Grandparents who are Christian men and women to pray for baby Kyle.
    To Steve and Shiloh's siblings:
How fortunate Steve and Shiloh are to have Christian caring siblings to encourage and walk beside them.
May God give each one of you extra strength this day.
Baby Kyle I pray God to hold you in his healing hands this night and keep you safe.
Steve and Shiloh may God give you rest this night.
Love from a church family member
