Today was a recovery day for little Kyle. He was doing so good with the dialysis loosing fluid. He did so good, in fact, that he got a little dehydrated which caused his blood pressure to drop. They stopped the dialysis and have been giving him fluid most of the day to get his blood pressure up. Most of the progress (fluid loss) Kyle has made the last two days has been lost.

At the time of this post, he is stable, back on dialysis, and looking forward to possibly starting milk again tomorrow. He is poised for a good day tomorrow.

  1. Thank you for the post as I was sitting here I can't even imagine how you all are functioning with all the ups and downs. I am sorry for the dehydration but hopeful that his blood pressure will be strong tomorrow and Kyle will regain his forward progress. GO KYLE GO!!

    One song that stands out in my memory, ....it's more than a song, it's a prayer that declares our commitment to enduring the long haul and maintaining a high standard.
    I'm pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I'm gaining every day;
    Still praying as I onward bound,
    Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
    Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
    By faith, on heaven's table-land,
    A higher plane than I have found;
    Lord, plant by feet on higher ground.
    We love you all, and will continually lift you up to the Prince of Peace. the mcgregors

  4. Steve and Shiloh,
    Billy and I both check Kyle's blog every single day. We wish so badly that there was something we could do to help. When I pray for Kyle, I also pray that both of yall are getting the sleep and rest that yall need during this difficult time. I saw some pictures of Abigail with Kyle from Margaret on York Photo and they are so, so sweet. The one of Steve reading to Abigail and Kyle(or Abigail might be the one reading) is absolutely precious!
    Love,
    Billy and Stephanie

  5. Good morning Kyle, Abigail, Steve and Shiloh.
    While you hold onto the hem of Jesus garmet with one hand and maybe grabbing Old Job and pulling him along with the other hand, the rest of us who love you are praying for your strength and healing today.

  6. Days pass quickly and progress may be slow but remember that with each day Kyle will get stronger and you will be one day closer to going home with a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers each and every day. Progress is progress, no matter how slow. We rejoice with you in your good times and we cry with you in the tough ones. I pray the weekend will bring Kyle more strength and his parents will receive the comfort and rest they need.
    Your friend,

  7. I just love some of the comments on the blog. They are so encouraging to all of us. What precious sisters and brothers in Christ are upholding us in prayer! I am especially impressed with the ones who don't even know us. On some of the blog comments, I wish I could write to them to thank them for specific things they say. Is there a way to do this?

    While Jack and Jayne, our cousins from California, were here, it was so obvious that Jack was in a different place than we had ever seen him before. (He had a heart problem three weeks ago and almost died.) There seems to be a sadness about him. I was talking to Dwin about it and he said, "Well, we are in a totally different place right now that we have never been in before." How true, and it is effecting the way we look, act, behave and think. There is just this abiding sadness in us. I hope our faith in our Omnipotent Father is also showing through, but I can't tell. I am sooooo ready, just like you, to be through this valley of the shadow of death. I am sooooo ready for the poking and prodding of Kyle to stop and for him to get well.

    Just to let you know, Steve and Shiloh, Mandy and Rachael, Clint and Jylyce, Jeannie and Brent, God's encouragement and light and strength are coming through you in your speech and your behavior. None of the rest of us can miss it. It is very obvious. It gives me great peace and joy to see how you are walking through this. You have an unshakable faith in Our Precious Father. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. Even if we didn't praise Him, the rocks would cry out to do so.

    Steve, Shiloh and Abigail, I love you so much. Keep holding on tight to the one who saves and rescues us, Our Savior and Redeemer. We WILL get through this! Stronger and more convinced than ever that God is still alive and well, and our ever present help in danger. Remember, when you don't even know how to pray anymore to just call out His precious name, J E S U S ! Satan has to cower at the very sound of that name. That old enemy can't hear our thoughts, but he can hear what we say, and I want Jesus' name to be all over that hospital ward and around Kyle's bed, surrounding him with God's love. I love it that you sing to your son, Steve. It is so evident that he knows yours, Shiloh's and Abigail's voices. I also take solace in the fact that Kyle's guardian angel stands guard over his little bed, towering over him, with his wings encircling him. He truly is in God's care and is the apple of God's eye. That is evident in the fact that he is still fighting so hard to remain with us. Precious little boy. Can't wait to see him running and playing at his house.

    As "Anonymous" said in his comment on the blog,
    "Blessed is the fact that Christians can rejoice even in the deepest distress; although trouble may surround them. The waves may roll over them, but their souls soon rise to the surface and see the light of God's countenance; they have a bouyancy about them that keeps their head always above the water and helps them to sing amid the tempest, 'God is with me still'. Trouble does not necessarily bring consolation with it to the believer, but the presence of the Son of God with him in the fiery furnace fills his heart with joy."
    Psalm 33:21 "Our heart is glad in Him."

    Keep holding on, dear ones. You CAN do this! You ARE doing this! And this too shall pass! Darkness abides for a season, but light cometh in the morning!

  8. The words of wisdom fail us all at times, they are silent when we feel we need to hear them the loudest. Sometimes, though, in that silence a realization occurs. That silence can be louder than any sound we hear. It tells us to listen to the beating of our own heart. Hear the strength in it. The power of the blood flowing, the sound of our own breath as it goes in and out. These are the sounds a baby hears in the womb. These are the sounds we hear as we lay down late at night. In those moments God reaches out and reminds us he is with us. Through the peace, through the storm, God is with us. In the wind that brushes the hair,God is with us. In the sun that warms our face, God is with us. As the rain comes down, God is with us. He is a part of us and we are all apart of each other, never forget God is with us.

    I pray for you God's grace, that you may feel his love. I pray for you God's peace, that your heart and mind may know rest. I pray for you God's love, that you may know he feels your sorrow. I pray for you God's strength, that he has already walked in your shoes and seen the other side. I pray for you God's forgiveness, that you may know to forgive yourself even as he has. ~May Faith Be With You Always, ~TMP

  9. I have a little card that has art work by Thomas Blackshear 11. It shows a guardian angel standing over a little boy in bed. The angel is standing behind the bed holding a lamp in one hand and a spear in the other. One wing is extened the length of the bed and the other wing is kinda wrapped around the other side of the bed. It shows that this angel is protecting this child. It is just as Margaret said. She was telling you about it and I was looking at the picture!
    On the back this is what it says:
    Watchers in the Night
    There is rest in God's promise to protect you. He makes this promise out of His perfect love and endeless mercy toward you.
    He's ever-present, always caring, and constanly watching over your life. May He keep you safe in the arms o His love today.

    For He will sommand His angels concering you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11
    The Sires family loves you!
