The doctor came by tonight and talked with us. To summarize, he basically told us we were to the point where we were hurting Kyle unnecessarily.

We told Abigail today that the doctors thought brother was going to die. That was hard. She took it better than we did. We'll see if it sinks in; she's only four, but she's so smart.

We are going to try to meet with Dr. Susan Davis tomorrow. Shiloh and I really connected with her, and she also seems to be the most optimistic. If she agrees with the other doctors that we need to quit, then we will have a decision to make. A decision that no parent should ever have to make.

Kyle has basically been on life support (breathing machine) for over ten weeks. I think what the doctors are saying is that whether we turn the breathing machine off or leave it on, it doesn't change his chances of healing. The only difference is how long he survives.

The God we serve is powerful enough to heal Kyle, regardless of our decision. I know that. He opens doors that no one can close, and He closes doors that no one can open. We're just praying that we make decisions for Kyle that honor God and are in accordance with His will.

I'm still praying that God will heal little Kyle's body. Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live. We'll see. It ain't over till it's over.

  2. My heart breaks for you guys. I can not begin to imagine what you all are going through. I hope that God takes the decision away from you and makes it clear the direction for Kyle's life. I will be praying for you!

    Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow thaat flies by day,nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

  9. My prayer is that you will know GOD'S will and do it, whether it makes sense to you, the doctors, those of us who love you or not. Listen to God. Know that, just as Kyle would come back to Glen Rose to a church family, and a community, to a celebration and open loving arms, so would he be received in Heaven.
No word I can say can comfort, no action I take can change anything. So, I will pray and let God do what He does best.
    Because He lives,

  21. Dear Steve & Shiloh,

I only read & pray, never write...I am at a loss of words. I pray with so much might that this story ends with healing; immediate or slow, but healing. I thank God for your stength, because this type of strength could only come from Him.
...The times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is suffient for you, for My power is made PERFECT in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that GOD'S POWER will REST on me. That is why, for Christ sake, I delight in weakness, in insult, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties; For when I am weak, then I am strong.

    2 Corinthians 12:7

I encourage you to rest, to close your eyes and rest in the arms of His stength & love as he continues to make you strong.

    In His Mighty name,
    Amy & Tim Pomykal
